Grey vs. Silver: It’s Not a Shade: It’s a State of Mind

Let’s clear something up: grey hair and silver hair are not the same thing.

Grey hair whispers, “I’ve surrendered.”

Silver hair? It shouts, “Buckle up, buttercup, I’m just getting started.”

Grey hair can sneak in early, sometimes in your thirties. That’s not the issue. The issue is attitude. I’ve seen people give up at 40. You know the ones. They shuffle instead of strut. They dress like life is over: sensible shoes, washed-out beige, hair in a shade that says “resignation.”

Then there’s the silver-haired brigade. We don’t go gentle into that good night. We go with tinted moisturizer, hot pink lipstick, and a glint in our eye that says, “Try me.”

I have silver hair. And I earned every strand. I’ve paid taxes, raised kids, buried people I love, and somehow kept my humor intact. I still lust after motorcycles. I drive a red sports car. I wear clothes that make people do double takes, and not just because I matched leopard with sequins. Again.

Silver isn’t just a color. It’s a vibe. A mindset. A middle finger to the idea that aging means fading.

So, if you’re wondering whether you’ve got grey hair or silver hair, ask yourself this:

Are you powering down, or revving up?

Because silver doesn’t fade.

Silver shines.
